Samsung : Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Anticipated Features, Design, and Release Details

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be unveiled soon, following months of rumors and leaks. Three or possibly four models are expected, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra being the standout in terms of design changes. It is rumored to move away from the angular design of its predecessors, offering a more rounded look while still accommodating the stylus. The dimensions are slightly altered, making the new model a bit longer and narrower than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The display of the Ultra model will maintain its 6.8-inch size but with slimmer bezels and reduced weight, now weighing 219 grams. Improvements are expected in the anti-reflective coating of the screen, which was already highly regarded in the previous model. The other two models, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, will have displays of 6.2 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively, with minimal design changes.

Battery capacity remains the same, with the Ultra model housing a 5,000 mAh battery, while the S25 and S25 Plus are expected to have 4,000 mAh and 4,900 mAh batteries. Charging speeds are anticipated to stay at a maximum of 45 watts, with the base model possibly supporting only 25 watts. The series is expected to feature Qi2 wireless charging technology, similar to Apple’s MagSafe.

The camera setup of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is not expected to see major changes. It will likely retain the 200-megapixel wide-angle camera and the same zoom capabilities as its predecessor, with a three-times optical zoom lens and a periscope lens offering five-times optical zoom. However, the ultra-wide camera might receive an upgrade to a 50-megapixel sensor, promising better image quality.

The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, with RAM options of 12 or 16 gigabytes. Storage for the S25 and S25 Plus starts at 128 gigabytes, while the Ultra model begins at 256 gigabytes. The series will likely include features such as water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 7, and a Qualcomm ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The software will launch with Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7, which is currently in beta testing. Updates to AI features are anticipated, with Samsung’s new Gauss 2 AI model expected to enhance functionalities like browsing and call assistance. Google’s Gemini chatbot may also be included, potentially available for free for up to a year.

Price leaks suggest that the Galaxy S25 will start at 899 euros for the 128 GB model, with the S25 Plus starting at 1,149 euros for 256 GB. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to start at 1,449 euros for 256 GB. The S25 Ultra may come in several colors, including “Titanium Black,” “Titanium Blue,” “Titanium Gray,” and “Titanium Silver.”

The official announcement for the Galaxy S25 series is expected in January, with the market launch typically following two weeks later. This aligns with previous release patterns for Samsung’s Galaxy series.
