In the new year, Softwarearchitektur.tv is diving into the topic of Generative AI (GenAI) and software architecture. Recent episodes have highlighted how exciting and versatile this subject is. Many are experimenting with GenAI, but software architects are still seeking the best ways to use it as a tool to support their work.
Christian Weyer, co-founder and CTO of Thinktecture AG, has gathered extensive experience in this field. In an episode, Ralf D. Müller talks with him about using GenAI in daily work. Unfortunately, Lisa Marie Schäfer will not be creating sketchnotes this time.
A live stream is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6 to 7 PM. The episode will be available as a recording afterward. During the live stream, participants can ask questions via Twitch chat, YouTube chat, BlueSky, Mastodon, Slack Workspace, or anonymously through a form on the videocast page.
Softwarearchitektur.tv is a videocast by Eberhard Wolff, a well-known software architect and head of architecture at SWAGLab. Since June 2020, over 200 episodes have been produced, exploring different areas of software architecture, sometimes with guests and sometimes solo. For over two years, iX (heise Developer) has integrated these episodes into its online channel, allowing viewers to follow the videocast from Heise Medien.
More information about the episode can be found on the videocast page.
On January 21, the betterCode() GenAI conference begins, organized by iX and dpunkt.verlag. This online conference addresses important aspects of AI-assisted software development. AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or the Void Editor are well-established, but many developers are not yet fully utilizing their potential or doubt that AI can generate code without weaknesses.
The conference program includes the following talks:
- Software development with Copilot, ChatGPT, and others
- AI tools in coding: The new standard?
- Quick feedback through code reviews using GenAI
- Achieving better test results with AI
- Defeating dinosaurs with ChatGPT – Using LLMs to analyze legacy systems
- Security by AI – Strengths and weaknesses of AI-supported secure software development
Conference tickets cost 299 euros (plus VAT). Teams of three or more receive an automatic group discount in the ticket shop. On January 28, an additional online workshop titled “Coding with Co-Pilots: AI Tools in Software Development” will delve deep into the world of AI-supported software development.
