Anthropic’s AI bot, Claude, has become a popular tool for everyday AI applications, competing with ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Copilot. Claude is based on a family of AI models, and in 2024, the company introduced new versions called Claude 3, including Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus. The high-performance version, Claude 3.5 Haiku, along with continuous model optimization, allows Claude to operate in an AI-agent context, even controlling your computer and performing tasks in the browser autonomously.
Claude offers support in various contexts, such as information retrieval in chat, photo analysis, or dictation for speech-to-text moments. Now, iOS users can start these applications more easily with a new widget that prominently displays the bot on smartphones.
The iOS widget for Claude simplifies everyday AI usage. In the App Store, you can now update the Claude app to access this important feature. The widget is available for the home screen, lock screen, and Apple’s Today View area. The company explains that with the widget, you can quickly create a new chat, analyze a photo with Claude, or open Claude to dictation mode.
This update was reported by the App-Research Team from Testingcatalog and tech expert Chris Messina. With the widget, you can quickly access Claude from the mentioned areas and use quick actions to start a chat with Claude, analyze a recently taken picture, or record a long message and transform it into an email or post.
The iOS widget for Claude is similar to options from Google, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity. If you use the iOS app, you should be able to access the widget after an update.
Additionally, Anthropic has introduced an optimized sharing function for Claude. Users can now share content in more file types, and haptic feedback is now enabled by default in the app but can be turned off manually.
Those who use Claude can also customize the AI bot with individual response styles such as Concise, Explanatory, and Formal. Users can have data visually presented or even write code.
