The heise devSec 2025 conference will take place on September 30 and October 1. This year, the ninth edition of the conference on secure software development will be held in Regensburg. The theme remains “Secure Software Begins Before the First Line of Code.”

The heise devSec 2025 is aimed at IT professionals who focus on security and face related challenges. The conference attracts software developers, architects, project managers, team leaders, and security and quality officers.

Security in All Phases of Software Development

The organizers, including iX, heise Security, and dpunkt.verlag, are seeking proposals for talks and workshops until April 11. Topics of interest include:

  • Design and Secure Architectures
  • AI in Software Development
  • Security by Design, Security Engineering
  • Supply Chain Security
  • Secure Free and Open-Source Software and Its Development
  • Correct Use of Cryptography
  • Compliance-Oriented Development for German and International Markets
  • DevSecOps
  • Secure Software and Privacy-Compliant Implementation

Experience reports are particularly welcome. The program will be published in mid-May. Until then, early birds can purchase tickets for the autumn conference at a special “Blind-Bird” rate of 1049 euros.

Online Conference in April on AI and Security

On April 8, there will be an additional special day focused on “AI and Security.” This online event will address attack vectors on AI applications, tools, and infrastructure. It will provide practical insights on how software developers and architects can protect themselves.

The program includes the following talks:

  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Security in the Tension Field of AI and Dev
  • Threats, Laws, and Defenses: A Practical Guide to AI Security
  • Hands-on LLM-Security: Vulnerabilities and Countermeasures

  • The Code of Others – Legal Aspects of AI-Supported Software Development

Tickets for the online conference are available at an early bird price of 249 euros (plus VAT) until March 17. Teams of three or more automatically receive a group discount in the ticket shop.
