The CES 2025 has concluded. While the organizers report a positive outcome, let’s look back at the highlights, crazy gadgets, and spectacular shows. Although business is the main focus of the event, Las Vegas takes the “S” in CES seriously, which stands for “Show”.
A special show was delivered at the start of this year’s event by Nvidia and Delta Air Lines, two companies that illustrate the enormous range of CES. The term “Keynote” doesn’t fully capture what Nvidia and especially Delta presented to thousands of spectators on stage.
A highlight for those who managed to secure a seat was the keynote by Delta Airlines at the Sphere. Alongside CEO Ed Bastian, Lenny Kravitz also made an appearance. CES veterans were reminded of past times, like when Bill Gates announced the Xbox in 2001 and played against wrestler The Rock. Unforgettable was also the almost surreal show Qualcomm put on at CES 2013, which brought the company headlines like “crazy”, “ugly”, and “embarrassing”.
Showbusiness in Las Vegas can’t be said about Nvidia’s performance in the same way, though some attendees mentioned it was a bit boring. Still, 6300 spectators had to wait a long time to see the highly anticipated appearance of CEO Jensen Huang.
Delta also had a full house: Over 8000 people wanted to see CEO Ed Bastian’s appearance for the airline’s 100th anniversary at the Las Vegas Sphere. Delta fully utilized the possibilities of this unique venue, including a brief appearance by rock star Lenny Kravitz.
However, CES is not just a show; it is also considered a pulse and trendsetter for various industries. From consumer electronics to computer hardware, crazy gadgets, social media, cars, and moving aircraft carriers, there was plenty to marvel at in the halls. What particularly caught the attention of the editors at heise media has been summarized in a photo series.
One of the central themes of the event was once again Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is present in all exhibition areas. Digital Health is becoming a solid pillar of the event, with numerous startups showcasing their innovations. Smart Home, energy supply, and mobility complete the event’s portfolio.
The organizers are satisfied with the outcome of the event. Over 4500 companies, including 1400 startups, showcased their products and innovations, according to the CTA. With around 141,000 visitors from over 150 countries (compared to nearly 139,000 visitors last year), CES continued to grow, albeit not as significantly as before.
“Innovation comes to life at CES,” said Gary Shapiro, CEO and vice chairman of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the event’s organizer. “From the largest companies to emerging startups, the entire tech ecosystem is represented at the event.” The CES 2026 will take place from January 6 to 9, 2026.
