Meta’s Ambitious 2024: AI Advancements and Global Growth

Meta : Meta's Ambitious 2024: AI Advancements and Global Growth

Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg is excited about the future. He believes 2024 will be a significant year as 3.3 billion people will use at least one Meta service daily. Meta plans to operate the leading AI assistant, which Zuckerberg describes as one of the most transformative products, with some fun surprises.

Zuckerberg also mentions the opportunity to redefine relationships with governments. He highlights the current US government’s support for leading companies and American technology, as well as its commitment to defending values and interests abroad. He is optimistic about the progress and innovation that these developments will bring.

Meta is working on the next version of its AI model, Llama 4, which is already in training. Llama 4 will be multimodal, handling various media types like text, sound, and images together. It will also be more autonomous, requiring less human input, and will better anticipate user needs and preferences. More details about Llama 4 will be shared in a few months.

In December, Meta AI had 700 million users. The service aims to monitor user activity on Facebook and Instagram and remember conversations with users. From this data, Meta’s AI will generate personalized responses. Zuckerberg believes people want their AI to be tailored to their context, interests, personality, culture, and worldview.

Economically, Meta continues to rely on advertising as its business model. AI now optimizes which ads users see, enhancing the effectiveness of advertising. This approach is financially successful, as Meta’s revenue and margins increased in the fourth quarter of 2024 without triggering higher taxes, benefiting the company.

Meta is also reportedly developing its own AI search engine. Additionally, Meta’s Llama model is used for military purposes in both China and the USA.
