GalaxyS25 : Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Features, Specs, and Launch Details

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is set to be unveiled soon, with the official announcement scheduled for January 22, 2025. Like previous years, Samsung plans to release several models in the Galaxy S25 lineup, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25 Plus, and S25. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a slightly different design compared to its predecessor, the S24 Ultra, with more rounded edges while still including the stylus. The S25 Ultra is expected to maintain similar dimensions to the S24 Ultra but will be slightly longer and narrower.

The display of the S25 Ultra will measure 6.9 inches diagonally, with slimmer bezels compared to the S24 Ultra. The device will also be lighter, weighing 218 grams, which is 13 grams less than the S24 Ultra. The anti-reflective coating on the Ultra’s screen is expected to be improved, providing better visibility in various lighting conditions.

The other models, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, will retain their screen sizes of 6.2 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. Both devices will have a flat aluminum frame with minimal rounding towards the back. The S25 Ultra will continue to have a 5,000 mAh battery, while the S25 and S25 Plus will have 4,000 mAh and 4,900 mAh batteries, respectively. Charging speeds remain unchanged, with the Ultra supporting up to 45 watts and the base model at 25 watts.

The Galaxy S25 series will introduce Qi2 wireless charging technology, similar to Apple’s MagSafe, requiring an additional protective case for magnetic attachment. The cameras on the S25 Ultra will see a minor update, with the ultra-wide camera upgraded to a 50-megapixel sensor. The main camera will have a 200-megapixel sensor, and the zoom cameras will include a 10-megapixel triple zoom and a 50-megapixel periscope camera with five times optical zoom.

The S25 and S25 Plus cameras will remain similar to their predecessors, featuring a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with triple optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Improvements in image quality might be achieved through software optimizations and the new processor.

Samsung will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for all S25 models, with a special “For Galaxy” variant offering slightly higher performance. The devices will have 12 or 16 GB of RAM, with storage options starting at 128 GB for the S25 and S25 Plus, and 256 GB for the Ultra model. The S25 Ultra will support up to 1 TB of storage.

The Galaxy S25 series will come with Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7, featuring new AI capabilities and enhancements. Samsung plans to introduce its AI model, Gauss 2, which will improve features like “Browsing Assist” and “Call Assist.” Google’s AI chatbot Gemini will also be available, potentially for free for up to a year.

The prices for the Galaxy S25 series are expected to start at 899 euros for the base model with 128 GB storage, 1,149 euros for the S25 Plus with 256 GB, and 1,449 euros for the S25 Ultra with 256 GB. The devices will be available in several colors, including “Titanium Black,” “Titanium Blue,” “Titanium Gray,” and “Titanium Silver.”

The Galaxy S25 series will be officially introduced at the Samsung Unpacked event, which will be live-streamed on Samsung’s website and YouTube channel. The event will showcase new mobile AI features designed to enhance everyday life.
